Louis-Alexandre de Gaspé Beaubien, 14-year-old high school student

The fourth generation of the family includes Philippe II and Nan-B de Gaspé Beaubien’s grandchildren, who are known for their environmental awareness. One day, the grandchildren were asked, “What would you do tomorrow if you were given the means to make a difference in the world?” Their answer was, “After looking at a variety ideas and research projects, we decided that water would be our workhorse. We believe that one day a water shortage could cause a global social crisis that only the strongest can win. That’s why we’ve chosen to help future generations find solutions.”

Louis-Alexandre is currently a student at Montreal’s Lower Canada College.Involved since 2011 in the de Gaspé Beaubien Foundation initiative on water conservation, he is one of the instigators of River Mission, which seeks to raise awareness among riverine communities of the need to preserve the Ottawa River. Louis-Alexandre has shown his dedication to philanthropy through the YPI Project, an initiative that encourages young people to become involved in their communities. Through YPI he contributed to Centre Philou in Montreal, an NGO that supports young children who are severely physically handicapped.
